Abstract In this study, Mg doped ZnO thin films were successfully prepared using the modified SILAR approach throughout various numbers of deposition cycles. XRD data shows have a wurtzite hexagonal structure. The crystalline size and crystallinity found to be increased by increasing number FESEM showed there are nanoparticles nanorods on surface, with random distribution in case sample synthesized 30 cycles, while agglomeration form maize-like structure flower-like morphology was predominant 40 UV-VIS transmittance spectra decrease increment energy band gap cycles found. response samples towards NO 2 gas at 200 °C operating temperature enhanced as compared
